bn88 – The Great Icescape: An Arctic Slot Adventure
This Arctic adventure slot by PG Soft is now available at bn88. Snow-covered reels, wildlife symbols and an exciting free spins feature make it a distinct experience.
What type of slot this game is
The Great Icescape is a 6×5 video slot by PG Soft — meaning it is built on a large grid of 6 reels and 5 rows. Instead of fixed paylines, it uses a ways to win system. This means a win is counted whenever the same symbol appears in any position on consecutive reels across all 6 reels, with no need to match along a specific line.
The theme is fully Arctic adventure. The reels are filled with snow-capped mountains, the aurora borealis, and northern wildlife — such as polar bears, arctic foxes and whales — used as symbols. The high-value symbols are images of these animals, while the low-value symbols feature ice crystal and iceberg designs.
The game includes a Wild symbol that can substitute for any regular symbol, and a Scatter symbol that triggers the free spins round. Overall it is considered a mid-to-high volatility game, with a maximum win of up to 5,000 times the bet.
- 6×5 reel grid with a ways-based payout system
- High-value symbols including polar bear, arctic fox and whale

- Maximum win up to 5,000 times the bet
- Mid-to-high volatility
What happens in a spin
Before the game starts, the first step is to set your bet. In The Great Icescape at bn88, you can choose a bet value within a set range. Usually you can set the coin value and level separately, or there may be a direct total bet input — this depends on the interface shown on screen.
After spinning, the 6 reels turn and stop to form a combination of symbols. In the Ways system, a win is calculated when the same symbol lands on consecutive reels from left to right. The more symbols match, the larger the reward.
A Wild symbol landing in any position fills in for a missing regular symbol and increases the chance of a win. Scatter symbols generally work wherever they land on the reels — three or more Scatters landing at once triggers the free spins bonus round.
In the free spins round you receive a set number of spins at no cost, and special multipliers or extra Wilds may be added during this round, opening the way for larger prizes than in regular spins. Retriggering is also possible during free spins — landing Scatters again adds more free spins.
Bet Selection
Set your bet amount before spinning according to your budget — anywhere from small to large within the available range.
Ways Wins
The same symbol on consecutive reels from left to right — in any position, not tied to a line.
Free Spins
3+ Scatters trigger free spins, with special multipliers and the chance to retrigger.
Which type of player is this suited for
Volatility refers to how often a slot pays out and how large those payouts are. The Great Icescape is a mid-to-high volatility game. In plain terms: there is a chance of winning big, but it takes time. There may be stretches of many spins with small or no rewards.
This game is therefore better suited to players who can exercise some patience and have a slightly larger budget for a session. If you expect a big win within 10–15 minutes, there is a good chance of disappointment.
For those who are completely new and not yet familiar with slots, it is best to start with small bets. On the other hand, players who have already tried various games in bn88's slots section and want to take advantage of free spins bonuses will find this game worthwhile. Keeping each session between half an hour and one hour, and deciding on a fixed budget in advance, is the best approach.
Know before you play — practical tips
Start with demo mode
The Great Icescape can be tried for free in demo mode at bn88. Get a good understanding of the rules and features before moving to real bets.
Set a session budget
Decide on a total budget before each session — say ৳500. Once that amount is gone, stop and do not add more.
Set a win limit
Decide in advance how much you need to win before you stop — for example, stop when you have doubled your budget. Continuing to play after winning does not work in your favour.
Take breaks
Do not play for a long stretch without stopping — take breaks in between. Making decisions when you are tired or frustrated is not a good idea.

Common misconceptions and the real picture
"Haven't won in so many spins — it must be my turn now"
This is the most common misconception about slots. Every spin is completely independent — the result of a previous spin has no effect on the next one. There is no such thing as a slot being "due" to pay out.
"Increasing the bet brings more free spins"
The chance of a Scatter symbol landing has no relation to the bet amount. Raising your bet only increases the payout if you win — it does not increase the likelihood of triggering free spins.
"If you're losing, raise the bet to recover"
Increasing your bet to recover losses is dangerous. It can cause losses to grow even faster. Set a fixed limit and end the session once you reach it.
"Playing at night gives a better chance of winning"
Night or day, morning or afternoon — the time of day has no bearing on a slot's payout rate. The RNG (Random Number Generator) works the same way at all times.
How it differs from other slots
bn88's slots section has many types of games — some classic 3×3 slots, some standard payline games on 5 reels, and some large-grid Megaways or Ways games. The Great Icescape falls into the last group.
In classic payline slots (such as 5 reels and 25 lines), you need to match symbols along specific lines to win. In The Great Icescape there is no such requirement — a win comes whenever the same symbol appears on consecutive reels from left to right, regardless of the row. This creates far more ways to win at once.
The 6×5 grid means there are 30 positions in a single spin, which is double the 15 positions of a 5×3 grid. This increases the chance of forming multiple large combinations at once — especially during the free spins round.
Compared to other popular games from the same developer (PG Soft) such as Fortune Tiger or Mahjong Ways, The Great Icescape has a completely different theme and a larger grid. The core spin mechanics, however, are built in the same company style.
Whether you play on mobile from Dhaka or on desktop from anywhere — the game runs smoothly on all platforms. PG Soft builds their games mobile-first.
